Breast Reduction

Are there sponsors for medically necessary surgeries?

I have been trying for the last two years to get my breast reduction covered by the insurance company and have had no success. I have provided letters from my primary care physician with diagnostic codes, letters and xrays from my chriopractor as well as pictures and letters from the surgeons office and they still continued to deny me. They don't understand that my back and shoulders are constantly in pain and I have trouble breathing when doing everday tasks. Not only that, I found out that because of the weight of my breasts, my neck is curved forward instead of backwards like a normal persons should be. At this point, I don't know what to do because I cannot afford to pay $8,500 out of pocket which is what my surgery is going to cost. I am open to any suggestions. Thanks

  1. Wow that sucks! Have you thought about trying to change insurance companies? What company is it? Why are they denying you? I believe you can make arrangements for payments monthly. I'm sorry, I hope you end up getting approved!
  2. Hello, Have you thought about going abroad for your procedure my dear? It would be less expensive and there are many skilled and credible surgeons to choose from for this type of procedure. Depending on where you choose to go (country, surgeon, service, etc) you could end up paying about half even with airfare, lodging, etc. Also, you could get a loan either through your bank or there are many surgical loan companies that have great rates, serve all credit reports and specialize in financing plastic surgery. I have had reconstructive plastics myself so I know the importance of this and how it will affect your life. It is a shame and a sin that the insurance companies stall like this for so many procedures that they should not. But then again, I believe you should take your life into your own hands and figure out a way to get you what you need inspite of what you're told! =) I'm a little bold I guess! LOL! I actually have a website under construction that will help people like you do exactly what you are needing... helping people to pay for surgeries that they cannot afford on their own! It's a way to "give back" ... which, for those of us with the good fortune to have been able to have these reconstructions, is really rewarding. Transforming and empowering your own life through surgery is one thing, Empowering another is a true thrill! =) Stay tuned and Good luck! Only Blessings, Christi
