Do you have any info on breast reduction surgery?

My insurance will conver breast reduction surgery for me. I have heard the surgeons spheel and now I am looking for first hand info. I would like to know the pain involved, recovery time, or anything else you would like to tell me. Thanks

  1. All of the above would be similar to breast augmentation surgery. Plan on a 2-4 week vacation.
  2. My brother's girlfriend had reduction surgery, as did a friend of mine from work. Both are so happy they went through with it! As I recall, the gf took about a week to get back to work. Both of them had great results, and a real reduction in backpain and nuisance factor! Good luck!
  3. Don't let the surgeon have the spoils or He/She will sing THANKS FOR THE MAMMARIES!
  4. First hand experience! I went from a G cup (seriously!) to a D in December of 2004. The surgeon took off 13 pounds from me - he said it was the largest he had ever done. I had three compressed vertebrae, was in constant pain and was tired of being gawked at. By far the best thing I've ever done. I was off work for three weeks. The first couple of days are painful, especially if you drainage tubes. Because the tubes are inserted into you, shifting positions can make you sore. They give you narcotic painkillers and your best bet is rest. I propped myself up on pillows, watched movies and just slept. My surgery was performed on Friday. My drainage tubes were removed on Wednesday (warning, when they pull them, it hurts like hades, but only briefly, once they're gone, the pain is pretty much over!). I took painkillers on Wednesday and Thursday morning. After that, it was plain Tylenol! I was a bit tired, but it really didn't hurt. Because of the stitches, they don't want you exercising or lifting anything. My Mum came to stay with me and took care of everything. The relief in my back was immediate. Within two weeks post-surgery, my vertebrae had completely decompressed. I do have some scarring on my sides and underneath because he removed a huge amount of tissue, but the results are so stunningly beautiful! I still look in the mirror all the time and admire them, they're perky and cute! Its amazing how wonderful it feels to have someone look in my eyes when they're talking to me now. Good luck to you! It will change your life.
